We believe that volunteers at events are an incredible resource. Sadly it's a resource that's often under-utilised and disorganised. This can lead to a chaotic event. with services not working properly, poor accountability, and unhappy, demoralised volunteers. Over the last 10 years, we've developed a number of strategies that really work. We have over 4000 volunteers on our database, with a wide range of valuable skills and experience.
We have volunteers from the highest echelons of their chosen field, who want experience at the "coal face". No event could actually afford some of our volunteers! They give their time from the goodness of their hearts and often give without measure.
We believe volunteers should
be treated like gold. And because they're giving from the heart, they'll
often give way beyond their minimum obligations. It's truly love
work. We're work hard to look after them. We provide great
working conditions, experienced coordinators and supervisors,
well-thought out positions, training information, and more. Be a Volunteer
When we started Loveworks we were mostly thinking about the people we wanted to help. The volunteers, to be honest, were simply a much-appreciated means to an end. But over and over we've seen that volunteering with Loveworks can be life-transforming. Sometimes it's not so easy to find ways to give, or ways to give without judgement or bias. Giving and receiving is a reciprocal process, and by giving one opens the door to receive love, friendship, inspiration and comfort in abundance.
We think your guys are
amazing! We make sure things are well-organised
and your comfort and care is looked after. Our coordinators and
crew are friendly, caring and supportive.
We do expect you to be accountable, cheerful, helpful, and professional. Many positions require you to show some initiative and think on your feet. Some positions are quite challenging, and may require a high level of skill.
We have positions for skilled and unskilled volunteers. Many of our positions are based around natural or conventional health care, drug and alcohol support, retail, hospitality or office and administration help. You can help out before and after with decorating and setting up and packing down an event, work with our various services during an event, or help us between events. Whatever you do, we'll make sure you get plenty of time to enjoy yourself!
Here are some of the volunteer positions we have available:
Work Information We have a number of work positions at some events. Massage therapists, psychic readers, naturopaths and iridologists are often paid 40% of fees collected for their services. As we charge up to $20/15 min, this can be up to $40 an hour, paid in cash at the end of the event. And you'll also get a free pass to a great event. Click here to check out these events.
We also have limited positions for experienced coordinators for some of our services, including ticketing, bookings for massage and psychic readings, recycling, site construction, retail, hospitality (bar, food, coffee stands, crew kitchens etc), information stands and more. And of course events may want to hire some experienced and capable crew. Email us, tellng us what you can do and your experience and skills.
Students Loveworks provides students with valuable experience in new and different environments. And if you're on a tight budget, why not volunteer and get a free pass to a great event?
We provide all volunteers with a Loveworks Certificate of Appreciation, detailing your position and hours worked, which can often be used for work experience or clinic hours. We provide qualified supervisors to sign these certificates. Students with suitable skills and experience can apply for any of our positions.
Student massage therapists with a minimum of Basic or Swedish Massage passes can volunteer to massage . We'll need a copy of your grades, certificate or a letter from your college proving your level of competency. Natural therapy students can assist our naturopaths in our Natural Pharmacy, or with ticket sales for our massage, psychic readers, iridology and other services.
We also welcome volunteers who are studying drug and alcohol, welfare and social work, psychology, nursing and medicine, counseling, office and business administration, retail and hospitality, photography and film, marketing and publicity, and of course...event management. And don't forget, you'll get a great certificate for your resume!
If you're 16-18 years old you can volunteer at some of our events, but we'll require your parents to give their consent. Click here to download a Parental Consent Form. Volunteers At Your Event Why not let Loveworks coordinate your volunteers? We'll do a great job and take a lot of pressure off your staff. And we can save you a lot of money in wages. We ask for and contact three references for any volunteers handling money or stock, so you can use volunteers to generate income for your event: they can work in event-run bars, food stalls, promotional activities, merch tents, and more.
And this is what we'll do!
