The knockout event of last year was Fuzzy's Parklife festival...This year it's doubled in size!  40,000 tickets sold.  Parklife is SOLD OUT!

Sydney’s knockout event of last year was Parklife, which delivered a memorable day of brilliant music under sunny skies. This year it is going to be better still: With a bigger, broader and (in our oh so humble opinion) better Parklife line-up, we’ve had to expand to four main stages just to fit all the talent!   You will hear a wide variety of electro, hip hop, house, breaks, beats, turntablism and more.

Parklife is conveniently set very close to the city in the beautiful Centennial Parklands, but feels like a world of its own with a lake, picnic tables, palm trees, markets, flags, rides, lanterns and more."

Loveworks is providing the only massage and psychic readers service at Parklife.  We'll have a 15m x 5m tent for massage therapists, and 2 or 3 separate booths (fete stalls), one for each psychic reader, next to the beautiful and tranquil lake at Moore Park.  We hope to be able to offer Kahuna, Shiatsu, Remedial, Reflexology and Swedish massage. 

Massage and Readings Fees

This crowd LOVES a massage & reading! 
$20 per 15 minutes
$35 per 30 minutes
$60 per 1 hour
Insured Massage Therapists receive 50% of the above fees for their massages.
Uninsured Therapists receive 40% of the above fees for their massages.
Psychic Readers receive 50% of the above fees for their readings.
We find almost everyone has a 15 minute massage or reading. 
 
Massage, Readers and Volunteer Shifts

Massage therapists are asked to work a minimum of 7.5 hours, divided into 3 shifts, with at least a 30 minute break between, although they can work more if they wish.  Shifts for psychic readers are negotiable, but generally they work the entire day (12 noon - 10pm), with  2 x 1 hr breaks.  Volunteers generally work about 6 hours.  Some or all of this time may be in setting up and packing up. 

VOLUNTEERS
 We'd like 10 volunteer helpers.  Positions include:

  • Setting up, decorating and packing up the day before and/or 8am-midday and 10pm-midnight

  • Selling tickets for massages and readings

  • Meet and greet and facilitating ticket-holders to their therapists,

  • and maintaining our space during the festival.

They will receive a free pass and have at least 6 hours off during the festival to enjoy themselves.  Set up and decorating crew have the entire festival off.  If any of these positions interest you please fill out the application below.

Please note:  It is a condition of working or volunteering for Loveworks that you check your emails regularly, as we generally don't have the resources to contact volunteers by mail or phone.  Make sure you empty your mail box regularly, and check your mail at least twice a week in the 6 weeks leading up to an event, and every day in the actual week before the event.  Loveworks emails often end up in Spam or Junk Mail because we send so many! 

We may need to send urgent changes in rosters, gate entries, pass collection and so on.  Some emails will require responses from you.  We do our best to send them more than once if we don't get a response, but if this occurs often, or your mail bounces back, we will have to drop you from our database.  We will send you a response to your application with 7 days.  If you don't receive one, email us to ensure that we have received it and that we have the correct email address.   We also strongly suggest that you bring a mobile phone in case you need to phone us (re entry changes, for instance).

Clothing, Food and Facilities

Loveworks provides a T-shirt and/or singlet, and a hat if needed, with our logo on it.   Do wear comfortable closed-toe shoes to meet OHS regulations!  We also provide hand-washing facilities.  We suggest you bring a bumbag for your essential items, snacks and bottled water.  Food can be purchased  at the festival but it's expensive.  We also supply chairs, psychic readers tables, decorations and a centralised bookings desk staffed by Loveworks personnel. 

Masseurs Therapists Only

Please supply your Public Liability Insurance Details.  Insured therapists receive 50% of their fess, uninsured therapists receive 40%.   Student massage therapists can volunteer and will receive a certificate documenting their hours with us, which may be used for work experience or clinic hours.

Can you bring a massage table and/or Massage Chair? Yes No

If you can't supply your own table or chair, and we don't have enough tables to share,  we may have to hire one for you, in which case $50 will be deducted from your earnings to cover hire fee and transport costs.  You can easily transport most tables by strapping them to an inexpensive luggage trolley.

Please note Loveworks supplies towels, moist towelletes, rolls of paper to cover the tables (like doctors use), and paper towels.   You will need to bring any accessories you use to massage (massage oil, pillows, eye covers, etc) and a sarong or robe for clients to wrap around themselves while they get dressed and undressed.  And wear comfortable shoes!  For OHS reasons you cannot be barefoot.

Are you applying as a student?

You will need to fax, email or post us evidence that you have completed Swedish or Basic Massage levels. This can be a certificate, grades transcript, or a letter from your college on a college letterhead. We must have this no later than 10 days before the event!
